Has anyone ever noticed the nasty black sticky oily stuff inside there 45mm carb before? I noticed the same thing in Jiminok's carb when he picked it up from DSmike. The only thing I can think it came from are those damn K & N filters!!!

 

The 45mm has a rubber gasket of sorts on the side of the slide, and when using ALKY it gets dryed out and causes the slide to stick(from lack of lubrication), so I open up the top of the carb,and use alittle oil the soften the gasket up,for smooth slide action, but it does cause a black reside on the slide.

I am not sure if this is what your seeing but .....THER YA GO!!!

i bought mine used from gary and there was a black residue like you mentioned i cleaned a lot of it out but it doesn't seem to effect anything.
