Was wondering if someone could give me the lowdown on the benifit/non-benifit effects of A-Arms in different conditions?

I ride about 60% Sand/ 40% Dirt Trails/Track. When I bought the Rappy, it felt a bit tippy, so someone suggested Extended A-arms. So I went out and bought some +3/+1, and its seems to help alot. But recently when I ordered my shocks the guy seemed surprised I had +3, said it might cause me problems with the new shocks.

Anyway what do you think on the subject?

I purchased the Custom Axis Dual rates to put on as well.

 

It depends on the geometry of the arms. If they are set up for 19" shocks or 17" shocks. Out side of that no problems.

I believe the only way it will cause problems with the new shocks you got is by them not being set up for that amount of leverage as they come from him. You could call up Axis and ask them what do they think you should setup those shocks with as far as valving and springs. The guy you ordered from probably doesn't stock anything for your needs and that is his concern.

Well IMO if someone that your ordering shocks from say the +3 a arms might cause trouble with your new shocks then hang up & call someone else!!!
The shocks should be able to be set up for what ever you need with no problems.

the only thing you should have to worry about is clipping a tree with that wide *** front end!!

Also, being that I went +3+1 in the front. What would you reccomend I go in the back? The Same +3. I am ordering a new Axle, which is ajustable.

Thanks for the setup info. I ordered the Axle before reading the Post.

I went with a Axle and Hibs from a Company Called TEAM. Which most people have not heard of, but has been is business for a long time doing OEM products, I guess. They built the Axle for the Preditor, and are moving into the Aftermarket. Hopefully I will be happy.

 

The tight woods get a bit hairy when you are that wide, but for almost every other form of riding you have a great set-up

I ordered the Custom Axis non-adjust Dual rate.

For someone that is not into racing, would it benifit me to save the money by ordering these? Or should I have gone with the Tripple rate or the Adjustables? Also whats the difference between Dual Adjustable and Compression Adjustable?

Hopefully I am cool with ones I ordered.
