I just got my 00 Xplorer 400 broke in and was thinking this would be a good first mod. I would like to get a little more topend out of it along with mantianing or improving the bottom end.Is this the way? Which brand is best? Delta or Boyseen? I would like to adventually add a pipe ,jets and clutch kit also, as soon as I find a pipe that doesn't wake the dead. Also is a bigger carb worth the exspense? Thanx in advance.

I installed a V Force Delta 2 Reed cage on my 2000 400 Scrambler 2x4, as well as a reed cage spacer plate. It did add some mid range to the quad with no losses that I could tell.
If you get the Delta 2 from Moto Tassinari, ask for the free T-Shirt $ 148.00 + $ 7.00 S&H
I saw the Delta 2 for $129.95 in a World Class( May 2000 Dirt Wheels Mag ) Ad (800) 878-4079
The spacer plate came from HPD $ 22.95 + S&H

By the way, I have some parts from RCR and HPD that I'll be comparing and posting my impressions. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the info CaptNemo. Have you ever came across a pipe that didn't wake up the dead?

I haven't tried the Boysens, but just looking at the Boysed and the Delta 2's side by side I could see that the Delta's would move more air & fuel.
I just got my pipe & clucth kit from HPD yesterday, and I'm headed for the garage.
I'm going riding this weekend so I'll post my impressions on Sunday night / Monday morning.
