Default New Prairie 650 Owner

Hello all,

Just wanted to say thanks to all who contribute to this forum. After spending a couple days reading here and alt. atv I decided to get a Prairie 650. Paid $6400 (That was the best deal around here in Maine) and an extra 4 bills for a Warn 2500 winch installed (after 10 hr service). Also opted for the 4 year warranty, I figured that might help when it comes time to sell it.

I've only done about 15 miles, but I'm pretty impressed already. Mostly mud and dirt riding, which the P650 has handled with ease. As someone who has always liked sport machines, I wasn't really blown away when I test rode it at the dealer, but once I opened it up a bit on my own, I realized what all the talk around here was about. The power is really awesome, and you can whip it around like nothing. I did get stuck in a water/mud hole today for about 1/2 hour. Mostly my fault, I didn't realize how deep the ruts were. After some choice words, a few minutes to wish I had the winch installed, and a couple near heart attacks, I managed to lift the back end out of the muck and straddle the ruts. That sucked.

I plan on getting a plow, some new tires (especially the rears!) and who knows what else.

Thanks again,
Brian

I believe you will love your purchase. I agree, new tires are a must, and the rims are pretty cheap. Next most important would be extra hand grips as they wear out fast from trying to hold on to the darn thing. Have fun!
