Default 1st ride of year not that good

Well Sunday morning we had 4 dirt bikes and 7 quads going riding on the local trails. The quads that went were 02 400EX, 03 400EX, 02 Raptor, 02 400 Srcambler 2x4 , 03 Yamaha 400 2x4 Big bear, 01 300EX, and me on the 03 Blaster. Right from the start about 50 yards from where we started the guy on the big bear rolled it over a time or two but did not get hurt or damage the quad, that time. We got him on all fours and we took of again.
We all went to a local hill that we climb, about 65-75 ft to the top. A small creek runs at the bottom so you have to run along the base of the hill then turn 90 degree left turn and go up the hill, about 20 feet up it goes fron dirt to coal slack pile. One at a time we took turns going up it, if we did not make it to the top just spin it around and head back down the hill. The guy on the Bigbear decides he wants to try the climb, first quad he has ever had and or rode on bought it in Feb 03, but tries to climb it in 3rd gear. He makes it about 10 feet from the top and it boggs down on him so he trys to turn and come back down the hill. That did not work, started to tip over so he jumps off on the low side and tried to hold it in place. What happened next I really cannot describe. I short that quad started to roll flattening him to the ground twice then proceeding to roll down the hill coming to rest at the base of the hill. I counted 8 rolles and flip end to end 1 time, another guy said 9 times but to hard to count when we were all trying to get out of the way of the quad.
Damage to the quad was pretty bad, broken FR spindle, bent lower R a-arm, bent rotor and metal screen that is behind it, bent FR rim a little, racks & plastic were bent down to the tires, handle bars and throttle assembly were FUBAR, plastic on the bar mount where the ignition is and broke the brake lever completely off, bent RR back wheel and popped tire off bead. He said he was alright but after he went home he went to the ER, messed up his left knee cartilage and tendon damage.
After that we got him loaded up and we took off again, only for the 02 400ex to blow the sidewall out of the RF tire and I to get a flat on the RR of the Blaster. On the way back to one of the guys house one of the dirt bikes motor blew up, and the guy on the Raptor busted his tailbone. I put a couple plugs in my tire and headed home and said the heck with this day. I hope our next ride will be better.

Damn, I hope I will never have a day like that. Good story though.

The boy that wrecked the big bear actually messed up a little more than we thought. He called me and also told me that the upper a-arm and possibly the shock was bad.

Of course the plugs did not hold on my tire. Put a patch on the outside and one on the inside and it is holding so far. Friday I will buying some tubes 1 for the tire with the patches and one for a spare.

I went riding for a little bit today with my friend with the 03 400ex. We went riding on some old logging roads, nice, easy, fast pace ride with no problems.
