Default Sand tires/wheels for front..Do I really need 1" offset?

Getting ready to order some Mohawk's for the front of my Raptor and cannot decide if I should get the stock offset or plus 1" each side. I put Elka's on a while back and they completely changed the handling characteristics of the Raptor. I am leaning toward the stock offset, simply because of the added stress put on the tie-rods, etc., with the additional width. The a-arms and swingarm are stock.
What does everyone think...Stock or +1? Pro's, con's, and suggestions welcome!! Thanks

As for the stress on the tie-rods go, I dont think 1'' wider will hurt them. The 1'' offset will give you quite a bit more stability up front b/c it will be a total of 2'' wider in the front (wider is better). Do you still have stock axle?? If you do just flip the rear wheels.

Stock axle but offset wheels with paddles. Right now, the front and rear are very near the same width.

I've been running the 1" offset front rims for probably close to 1 year now. I ride pretty hard and have had no problems. Very noticable improvment in handling.

So, It looks like there is no good reason NOT to get the offset?

I don't know if I would go with the Mohawks...They're a ton hevier than a set of dune trackers!Your front end will feel kind of bulkey. I had them and sold them to buy some trackers.

How much heavier do you think they are? I rode with a set of dunetrackers and didn't really like how the jerked around. They seemed to grab almost too much.

I love the way they hook up in the sand....It's just what you like I guess. As far as weight goes...I couldn't say exactly.Go to you local shop and put a tracker in one hand and a mohawk in the other, you will see what I mean. Every pound counts on the way up the hill!!!

Are you sure it was mohawks and not shark fins you were comparing. My mohawks are pretty light.
