Default Plastic or aluminum # plates

Question for you racers, would anyone be interested in Aluminum # plates instead of plastic. I own a small company that makes aluminum ATV license plates for here in MN. they hold up much better then the plastic ones and we make them in six different anodized colors. I saw in the ATV sport mags that most of the # plates that racers use are made of plastic and just thought maybe we could see what some of you racers thought.
I would be willing to send out some samples if I could get photo's in return.
I don't know what the rules are for displaying your #'s so any information would help and I hope we can help you.

Thanks you,

Snickers

We have six different colors for our License Plates Black, Silver, Blue, Green, Red and a Yellow/Gold. The plates come packaged with mounting hardware ( Metal cushioned clamps & nuts / bolts). Retail $9.99
We also sell Lettering Kits Black, White, Blue and Red. Each kit has multiple letters and numbers and are 2" high ( leagal size ). Retail $3.99 but if you know what color plate and what #'s you need we can put them on at no charge so it's just the cost of the plate and shipping ( about $3.00 ).
Sorry to say we don't have orange to match the DS 650.

I am always up for free stuff. The only thing I would add so far is the numbers need to be large and visible. You wouldn't want to be skipped completing a lap. A black plate with a white #4 should look good.

If you read the AMA rule book for ATV's, no wood or metal number plates for safety. The plastic will break in a crash and the metal will not and could end up cutting a rider in the crash.

I think that if you could roll the edges of the metal, that it would safe enough. The thin metal seems to bend easily.
Plastic isnt that safe IMO. The terrorists killed w/plastic knives,,right?!
The moral:: you get the rear grab bar/front bumper close to you,the # plate is the last of your worries.
Make a safe product and submit it for approval to the AMA.
