Dvx 250 engine change
#2
Welcome to the forums.
The 250 dvx is really a Taiwan import they've rebadged for AC. You could do a few clutch adjustments, change out the intake to a free flow filter and maybe find a better exhaust for it. But the biggest problem is these don't have a lot of power to be squeezed out of them to begin with.

Sure, anything is possible.
But do you have the right mounts? Will they match up? Will the current transmission match to the new motor? That I'd really doubt, so now you need a new tranny. Will that drive match up with the rear sprocket? Then there's the electrical system. Will the cdi's match? Doubt that too. So, you've gone and bought a new motor, tranny and part of the electrical system and it hasn't been put in yet.
Seems like selling it and buying something bigger would be a whole lot easier.
