Where do you find out about factory recalls? When I bought my 500i a year ago and checked the arctic cat page there was a master cylinder recall that listed the serial #s of the bikes affected. Just looked today and don't see anything on the factory site. Bike is in at the dealers and they tell me it needs ball joints, (factory recall). When did this recall come out?

 

Im not sure when, but my friends 02 375 got a new master cyl and ball joints out of it.

my dealer told me that therecall was on 02 models only because there was a problem with the ball joints beaing defective so thay recalled them. thay failed on some quads and some people got hert so they recalled all 02 modles and upgraded them with better balljoints.

 

THe recall on all 02 models for ball joints is a year old. They sent out registered letters to the owners.....at least is you bought it new from a dealer they should have. I got my letter about last June...almost a year ago. They fixed it while I waited...took them about half an hour.

They sent me a letter to, take a look here, www.cpsc.gov. its posted, if you do a search under ATV's there is a bunch of other recalls, did'nt see any AC 03's in there.

 

the ball joint recall applies to select 03 models as well

 

thats not what my dealer told me. he said 02 only for 03 thay put the upgraded ones in them.

 

Not true. That was originally the case but then arctic cat came out with a bulletin giving several VIN ranges and models of 03's that were affected as well. If you want i can try to post it tomarrow
