i just wanted to know if it was a good machine or not. please don't argue over the waranty. Just because it has a good or bad warranty would'nt mean i would'nt buy it. the warranty dosent matter. just tell me if the arctic cat 300 4x4 is a good machine!!!!

My wife and I both have 300 4x4s 2001 models. We realy like them except for hard starting sometimes in cold weather, and cold bloodeness. This has been a real pain at times. My dealer told me that the intake valve adjustment is critical in curing this. I havent cheaked it yet and I am sure they are due to be set. If this doesnt do the trick he said they have had to chang the pilot jet on some models that have had this problem.

I would recommend a honda rancher or maybe the new yamaha bruin for the price. Im not picking on arctic cat or nothing i think with arctic cat you get more towing and maybe more ground clearance. So it may be worth looking at other than the previous stated.

ky300exrider, you could get an AC 400 for the price of the Rancher or Bruin. Personally I would still get the AC 300 over either of them due to the triple range tranny and Fully Independant Suspension.

I agree, Anything without independent or ACT suspension is nothing more than an old 3 wheeler with an extra wheel on the front. Honda has tried to cover this up by adding a bunch off unnessary electronics ie digital gauges, elec shift ect. These are going to cost BIG bucks to replace when they quit. And every one I know who has riden the elec shift Honda has had trouble with it and it is only a 5 speed.

for the money Cat is one of the best machines on the market. After borrowing my buddies 99 400 I decided to get one for myself. I have an 03 400I and I love it. I settled for the 5sp over automatic becuase of the price difference. I have somelittle things that bother me with my biggest problem being my brother. I can not get him off it and I really do not like his sp500. It's yellow.

I love my Cat and has you can tell, Most of the people here are semi brand loyal. We all fight for what we like and hopefully we all ride what we like. Cats are reliable UTILITY machines. Granted they do not have a high top end, but my experience as proven that the cat will out pull them all. I ride with mostly Polaris and have on several ocasions had to hook on to the machine doing the pulling and pull two of them out. Of course they pull me out too and they let me know it. The biggest thing is have fun. Treat your machine well and it will treat you well.
