I remember someone talking about top speed a while ago and thought that you might want to hear this. I hit over 60mph in 4wd last weekend. I was riding alone and have stock tires. The the next day with me and a passenger (over 350 pounds together) i hit an even 60, in 2wd. Anyone that says that AC doesn't have much top speed doesn't know what they are talking about, ask all of my buddies that drive polaris and honda!! Couldn't believe it! The only place an Arctic Cat belongs is out front!! This weekend I will find out how fast with just me in 2 wd, expecting almost 65. Even the dealer was suprised, he was along on the ride.

I don't know why you like to rev the **** out of your quad. How long of a stetch did it take to get that speed? My kawi hit 63 mph in about 800 feet or so, maybe more. Just trying to get a general idea how long it took to get there, thats impressive for the kat. My '02 500i can go about 55 mph but it screams and I don't like that.

 

it took about a 1/2 mile stretch, and yeah it was screaming but I was riding with the dealer that I bought it from and he thought it was great! Also just to note my dealer told me that after you put on 100 miles on the bike and change the oil it is ok to loosen the screw that stops the throttle. I am not going to but if my dealer told me that I could do this after he saw how fast I was going I wouldn't be worried about making the kat scream!

Don't ever use a GPS or your excitement will fade quick. I could hit 59 all day on my 99 AC500, but of course when you put the GPS to it, it quickly turns into 52. If their speedometers are anything like they used to be (and they are identical still), they are quite optimistic. But so are most of them anyways. 65 on my Grizzly speedometer equalled out to 60 on the GPS.

that screw to stop the throtle is all the way out on mine all it does is stop the throtle from going to far its not set up to keep you from over reving it. i tryed to ajust mine befor and it was all the way out it was set rite at the limit of the throtle so you dont try to push it ferther and strech the cable.

 

hey luvthemud I highly doubt that you bike gos that fast bescause my 2003 polaris trail boss kills my brothers 2002 500i every time we race and there no way my bike gos 60m/h and when we race my bike sounds fine and his bike sounds like its about to fall apart.

and if u knew anything about cat, you would know there is a BIG DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE between the 02 models and the 03, i believe that a 500 would hit 60 no prob
