artic-cat 300 carb problem, need help
i have just picked up my atv from the arctic dealer with the same problem.they installed a new valve seat and with a servicing,it set me
back approx. $700.00 canadian.the dealer advised they had only one previous atv with this problem, that being an arctic cat bearcat 454.
i guess the solution is to shut off the gas line when not in use.otherwise i have been quite satisfied with the arctic cat
2001 arctic 250 4x4
selectable 2/4wd
otherwise stock.

artic-cat 300 carb problem, need help
Your dealer is lying to you. Your problem is the needle and seat is leaking. It may have some debri in it but its best to just replace it. Its filling the float bowl which is then flowing through the needle jet into the carb body then into the clyinder. You do not want to crank the motor over when this happens because you get a hydro-lock in the motor which could easily twist a crank or bend the rod. You want to get it fixed ASAP. It DOES come as a needle and seat set ONLY (not individual because they are a mated part) so you dealer was scamming you there- bet it wasnt in a sealed package. The part number you need is 4505-022 which is a "Seat, Valve 2.0 (with needle)" in their words. Full retail on this part is $17.95. Hope this helps

Atric Cat Carburettor Floods
This seems to be a common problem. My 2000 Arctic Cat 300 started filling up the cylinder with raw gas. Rather than attempt to fix the caurburettor, I bought a new replacement on Amazon and that one was good for about a year, then the replacement carb started doing the same thing. I ordered another new carb on Amazon (they're cheap enough) and this one floods straight out of the box! I took it apart to see if had been incorrectly assembled but everything looked OK. Having reassembled it and hooked it back up it's still the same - as soon as I turn on the gas, it runs straight out of the carb throat. I did find that there's a needle valve on the bottom of the float chamber which controls the overflow. This came wound in tight on the new carburettor, effectlively shutting off the overflow drain. I wound it out a couple of turns and now the gas runs out of the overflow instead of into the engine - not much of an improvement!
