I'm ready to put cv protectors on my 2000 500 Auto. Who has installed what & how do you like them & where do I get them? I liked the looks of the Aluminum Products ones but they don't have any to fit my Quad! Weight doesn't concern me, I want protection & looks.

the set ive got now, were made out of an old roadsign and were ment to be temp, but after 400 hard miles and no punctures I have to keep them, Im planning on getting a set of stick stoppers for cabelas and useing them as a pattern to make some diamondplate one, but this will be in the future.

Your Ac dealer should be able to get you some of the new plastic ones made be AC. They fasten to the A-arm with screws and are flush underneath. If you order the ones for the 2001 models(standard this year), I think the price is around $20. I am not sure of the part #, if you need it let me know.

I got mine from the dealer when I bought the 'Cats. They are from Cycle Country, and are nearly 1/4" thick, so there's no chance of puncture or tearing. They look pretty good, and do a great job, so that's really all that matters. They bolt on to each side of the A-arm using square U-bolts. I was a little worried about the bolts sticking out with the nuts and grabbing logs or stuff, but it hasn't been a problem at all. Just another option.

Good luck,

Mike

One word ... OXLITES. Excellent and look good too. Although the Cycle country are probably just as good. Those two would be my pick. Stick stopper brand are real good too. Any of those three are great though. Just see which is cheapest. I have the oxlite, and I would get it again. They are all three about the same thickness and cover about the same area.

Thanks for the info, who has the Oxlites on the 'net that I can look at? I'll use my dealer as a last resort as he is 100 miles away.

I don't know where to look at them, but you can call Dennis Kirk and get their catalog. Thats where mine came from. Like $40 a year ago with the $5 charge added for an order under $100.

Check out Rocky mountain atv's online catalog. I was looking for boot protectors for my Honda and Rocky mountain lists the Ox-lites for $35.00. I don't know what the shipping cost would be but they also have an 800 number and could easily tell you. Good luck.

I posted this under another thread but it is something to take into consideration before your purchase ( If you allready didn't see it ) ... Bill

I had both stick stoppers and oxlights at one time new
off the bike and put one on top of the other and the
stick stoppers offerd better coverage(so I gave the
oxlights to my friend) for what its worth . I am sure
they are both good ...
