thanks foir all the reply's. I howere am not 15. I do as much possible to watch what I am riding over but sometimes you cannot avoid things. I did however purchase the whole axle assy. Not by choice however and much to my dismay. I respect my equipment as much as possible. I will have to try those kevlar boots and it need the axle place if this happens again.

Default CV Boot

You can also buy boot protectors. They are a plastic or metal shield that bolts onto your a-arms. They block sticks and such, I don't know if the 300 comes with them stock, if not buy some aftermarket ones that should help alot.

You can also use automotive boots on the 4 wh, they're a lot thicker rubber & tougher! I know the boot of a Geo metro or GM sprint is same size as 300 Cats use but not sure on the bigger bikes?

Default CV Boot

Check out norrecind.com. Their boots stretch over the joint so you don't have to remove it from the axle. The boots wear good too.
