I was in LOWES this morn and bought a Delta Poly Stuffer Chest for the 'Cat. It works awsome, hinged lid, Plastic, lockable, The sixe is 32" long, 13 1/8" Height and 15 1/8" wide. It fits almost perfect and even leaves almost 2" over all on the outside so you can still get to the outside rails to tie anyting else on. All for $34.00...not bad in my opnion

Hey BigCat:
What do you think about the 13" height of the box being right behind you while driving? I ordered the rear rack bag from atvstuff.com yesterday, and it measures 36" long, 17" wide, and 15" deep. I put a couple cardboard boxes on there to see what it would look like, and it seemed a little high. Just curious how you feel with it being back there. Guess I'll just get used to it in time.

How's the 'Cat doing with the new K&N stuff? You happy with the purchase? I suppose the pipe will be the biggest difference. Let me know how much louder it becomes after you get it on, if you don't mind, I'd be interested in one for performance, if it isn't too loud. -I kind of like the 'Cat's purring like a kitten rather than roaring like a lion! Heh Heh Heh.

Have a good one!

Mike

Cowboy,
I'm 6'6" so it is almost the right height to lean back on when im stopped, so I dont have any problems with it.
As far as the K&N, I love it, The cat runs much smother and being able to clean the prefilter each weeks helps too. It keeps most of the dust out of the filter.

BCD:
Boy, at 5'10", with a 8" deep mortar box on the front, and a 15" deep U-shaped rear rack bag, I'll look like a little kid! Heh Heh Heh. Oh well, at least I'll have everything I need with me all the time.

Hey, before you switched to the K&N filter, did you have the AC's new blue foam washable/re-usable filter, or the older throw away type? One of the honda dealers was telling me that the AC's new washable foam filter is supposed to be just as good as the K&N. (He's a Honda dealer that drives an AC!) Anyhow, I don't know if that's altogether true. Did changing the filter alter the air/fuel mix enough that you had to change anything in the carb, or did you just want to change it? -I'm still trying to learn about that stuff.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Mike

Cowboy,
I had the old type, However a local AC dealer told me the same thing. He said all you have to do is remove the faom from the outside, after doing that you will see a folded paper fliment, But the K&N is not paper like the AC, and it is treated by oil to help trap the impurities. The ArcticCat Perfilter looks just like the K&N except the markings and is much cheaper. YOU NEED TO GET THE PREFILTER, i saves you main filter from mosy of teh dust and is easily washable.
I run K&N in both my quad and in my GMC 1500, As a matter of fact Jasper Engines recommends the K&N's I have a 4" in a Elderbock air Cleaner and BOY can you tell the diff.
I did not have to change teh Jets if that what you mean, i can tell the'Cat is getting more air but when I checked the plug this past Sat it lookes A-OK.
Oh by the way the you were right The diamondPlate will not slide like plastic did but oh boy is it strong and looks great

BigCat:
Thanks for the info. Do you have any new pic's of the 'Cat with the diamond plate armor and the lift? I just checked out your page, but wasn't sure if they were the most current or not. I bet that diamond plate looks sweet! I didn't see any readers rides-are you still wanting them, or not? If so, I'll try to send you some as soon as I get them back from the film shop. I hope they turn out, as I should have some pretty good ones of my 'Cat winching my suburban and trailer out of the mud. That was pretty cool.

Take it easy.

I ordered my directly from K&N 1-800-858-3333 It was about 20.00. It looks just like the ArcticCat one, if I had to do it over I would have just gotten it.
