Well.... tell me what is on the new 650 cat that IS groundbreaking and worthy of a front page article? The V-twin 650 has been done already. In fact, Kawi moved on to 700 while handing the 650 down. What am I missing here?

Why did the kvf get reviews? Just for the motor? There is nothing else on it to brag about. Get over it. All manufactures are sharing stuff. Its all cat cept for the power plant. The only one that said it was groundbreaking was you lol. The rags never give cat any props, they must be the only one to not pay them enough. The rags arent worth buying anyhow. BIAS BIAS BIAS

Oh and someone must want them... my dealer has all his sold and they wont be here till oct or something.

Why did it get reviews? How about the first V-twin Auto in a sport quad? Kind of new, eh? First I know of ...

I never said that the new Cat was groundbreaking - actually quite the opposite, that was my original point as to why it wasn't on the front page of Dirt Wheels, etc... Nothing very new to the ATV world. I'm sure people do want them. They are generally cheaper than the other models out there using the same powerplants and they also feature the independant rears which are quite desireable to some.

I'm not here to start a pissing match about Arctic Cat ATV's. I just made the point that there was reason they weren't jumping off the covers of ATV mags ... there wasn't anything much to hype, in my opinion. If you disagree, great. If you think that if Arctic Cat paid Dirt Wheels a hundred grand they would be on the cover, think that. I'm still not sure what they could hype as new or exciting. Maybe for a ton of money they would fake it. Or maybe, just maybe, they aren't making ATV mag covers because they aren't making ATV cover-material quads...

Are you serious? Of couse its groundbreaking material! Arctic Cat is one of the sweetest atvs around but many always felt it was underpowered ( probably due to the weight of a heavy duty chassie). Now, you add one of the most powerful engines around to it and..........."POOF"......Introducing the ultimate utility atv! For work or play! Need I say more?

And once again, what is groundbreaking? What is new? It is the 650 Vtwin that we have already seen in the Kawis, mounted on a chassis design that we have already seen on the Cats. A combination of 2 existing materials doesn't confer groundbreaking after the 650 Vtwin utility ATV has already been made by Kawi, and now both Polaris and Kawi are making 700cc twin cylinder models. Hell, the Polaris is even independant rear suspension to boot. Once again, what is so revolutionary? Am I blind here or are we missing the point?

Your missing the point... "we" dont care where the motor is from. Its a badass 4x4 and thats it. If i had to spend 10k on a 4x4 this year, ive seen and ridden near all them. Its a matter of taste, ill take the 500i or the 650. I liked the 500i manual over the grizz. There is a an 04 400 and 04 500 down the local shop, lime green, grey racks w/589s on chrome. Very nice looking machines.

Truly, I'm not missing the point. I never disputed that it was a great machine. In fact, I am sure it is. We have 3 Arctic Cats in the family, 2 500i's and a 400 auto. What I did say was that there is a reason it isn't on the front pages of the mags. Other companies have been there and done that already. It is treading on chartered territory. That is ALL I said - that usually for a mag to give you a nice big pic on the front you need to be new and exciting (if not, a banshee would grace the cover at least once a year for still being one of the best sport quads out there), something that the ATV world hasn't seen before. The new Cat just doesn't fit that bill, even if it is a great machine (as I'm sure it is).
