I prefer the manual myself, use my 500i to haul logs around. ice thing about Cat is that they offer both - one of the primary reasons I got the Cat. Excellent machine - has been trouble free in a year of farm/trail use.

Thanks for all the info. I've done alot of research before deciding on the Cat. Was pretty sure that's what I wanted, but all the info you all have given me just clinched it. It's good to be here and thanks again.

Hmm, Arctic Cat, VERY reliable... Downside is, price...

400 DVX - $8599
650 4x4 Automatic LE - $11999
650 4x4 Automatic - $10599
500 4x4 Automatic TBX - $10199
500 4x4 Automatic TRV - $9799
500 4x4 Automatic - $9199
500 4x4 - $8899
400 4x4 Automatic TBX - $9299
400 4x4 Automatic - $7999
400 4x4 Automatic ACT - $7799
400 4x4 ACT - $7499
400 4x4 - $7699
400 2x4 Automatic - $6899
400 2x4 - $6599
300 4x4 - $7149
250 4x4 - $6299
250 2x4 - $4999
Youth 90 2x4 4-Stroke - $3199
Youth 90 2x4 - $2999
Youth 50 2x4 - $2599

The belt slippage is nothing... I have a 1999 Arctic Cat 300 4x4, and it hast four wheel independent suspension, so i don't have to worry about belt slippage. If you are deciding between Automatic and Manual, stick with the automatic for regular trail riding, but go with the manual if you're doin lots of mudbogging, deep water, etc. since its easier to go through it in just 1st or 2nd gear.
Have fun with you're new Arctic Cat, You will love it the second you get it. (Wear a helmet)
THough the speed is low, and my 300 topped out at 57... the power is amazing!
