Default will only run with the choke on.???

Howdy guys and gals...I have a AC300 4x4, It has ben sitting since last hunting season. After turning it over for about an hour, It would only stay running with the choke on. The bad thing is that it pours fule out of the tube on the rt side floor board. I put new gas in it, but it will not run.Looks like there is oil in the fule that it pours out. I need help........

It sound like the float is stuck from sitting up too long. The carb is going to have to be cleaned out and rebuilt. You also need to change the oil and check the airbox to see if it has gas in it. If you set it up for a long period of time, it is best to turn off the fuel and let it run until the carb runs out of gas. Good luck, those 300 4x4s are good bikes.

Qwik question ODB, I run my bike out of fuel every time I'm done riding it. Will this hurt anything?

Dirteater, It will not hurt it to run it out of fuel. I know some people that run theirs out every time they transport their atv to prevent flooding, and have been doing so for years.

Ok, there was gas in the air box. I removed the Carb, Now can I just clean it real good with Carb. cleaner and put it all back together. Will that fix it?

When you put it back together, make sure the float is completely shutting off the fuel flow. The best way to do this is to blow into the fuel line and slowly move the float upward until it is level with the bottom of the carb. When it is level with the carburetor, you should not be able to blow any air in through the line. Go to www.brownsleisureworld.com for an exploded view.

Well, took the carb off, and sprayed it good with carb. cleaner. Made sure the float was working freely. Put it all back together and did the same thing. Dumped fuel out of the hose on the rt. floor board.

Now Im aggravated, My wife is mad at me cuz the garage smells like gas and the damn thing still wont run. Well I guess its time to take it to the shop and have some one rape me on repairs. Oh well, Ill know better next time.

ODB, Thanks for taking the time to give me a hand.

Tommy.
