Well I never thought I would say this but for the first time I wished I had bought a Honda. I will start from the begining.

Well I'm changing my oil, after a big rain, and my freind Mark pulls on his 450s with another guy on a 450s. Well he asked me if I could go Mud ride and I told him that I was changing my oil but I would meet him at the mud pit. Well I was trying to hurry so I i put the new oil in my quad and went in my house to change into my mud rideing cloths. Well I start here up and I see that the tank is half empty so I head on over to the gas station. Well on my way (a mile from my house) there I feel my right leg get very warm threw my pants. I look down and scream "NOOOOOOOO". I slam on the brakes and quickly turn off the motor. Would you belive that I forgot to tighten the oil cap after I refilled it. So I get down a start looking for the cap. An hour later I finnaly guve up and start to push my quad home, threw a muddy feild. Well this is where the title comes in. Have you ever tried to push a 650 pound quad threw a mud that sticks to the tires like glue, thats a work out. Thats when I wish I had bought the(lighter) 450s Honda.

Anybody else had a simular thing happen?

Well, not quite the same, but close. My Uncle brought his 97 Xplorer 500 in for the 500 mile tune up quite a while back. When he got it back, his friend took it to the woods to check his deer stand for food. The woods is only like 100 or 125 yards or so from the house. When he got back, he parked it in the garage, and then all of a sudden heard some loud ticking coming from the engine. He shut it off quickly and looked under it, staring at the oil puddle underneath. The mechanic at the dealership forgot to tighten the drain plug. Good thing the plug didn't come off on his way back to the house from the woods! Then they wouldn't have seen a puddle, and it would have been running more rpms than it was idling in the garage, probably seizing the engine. But the dealer fixed it free of charge, of course.

If it came to pushing, I think I would prefer the Yamaha Badger over the 450s. If the mud got too deep, you could pick it up and carry it home.

Hey sorry guys, just having a little fun with you. I'll lighten up a bit. No I'm not a punk kid, I'm in my 40's, and yes I own quads, and have since 1982. Models from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki to name a few. Used to be an all out sport rider, 87 Warrior, but now am into 4x4 utility quads, I own two. I apologize for getting your undies in a bundle. I'm a Graphic Designer with over 20 years in Product Image design...Now if Arctic Cat would just let me design them a new body style we could all be happy. Later...TF

Geez, TF was only kidding..............!

Love those 26" tire on the AC 500! They dig.
Saw them on a rental quad last weekend. NOt sure if it makes a good rental though. Putting novices on a big machine like that. Young girl riding almost flipped it on a steep hill then banged it into a tree!

Glenn.
