Default Changing Tire Size

I have a '03 250 (all stock) that I bent the bejezus out of the front rim on yesterday. I have been looking around at tires/wheels anyway. I read the posts in the forums on tires...but didnt really find what i was looking for. The tires are the stock 23x8-12 (which seem hard to find in the mud lites and gators) What size can I go with, and still maintain the integrity of all the other parts. I dont want to have to spend a fortune changing everything, just to change the tire size...plus I will only be upgrading the Front Tires on this bike right now. (its a money thing)

i love my CATillac and want her to ride right.

YOU DONT REALLY HAVE TO STAY WITH THOSE SPECS TO UPHOLD EVERYTHING. AS A MATTER OF FACT YOU CAN GO ALOT BIGGER. STAY WITH IN THE RANGE YOU HAVE NOW, IF YOU CAN FIND SOME GO WITH A 10 WIDE UP FRONT AND A 12 IN THE REAR, OR YOU CAN GO THE SAME WIDTH ALL THE WAY AROUND. YOU CAN GET MUDLITES IN 25 INCH TALL NOT SURE OF THE WIDTH. BUT TRUST ME YOU WILL NOT HURT A SINGLE THING BY GOING BIGGER ESECIALLY WITH A LIGHT AGGRESIVE TIRE LIKE MUDLITE

You need to maintain the same relationship between the front tires and the rear tires. If the machine has 23" both front and rear and you keep the same (23", 24", 25" ect.)size on all four. If the rear tires are 24" you ned to maintain the 1" difference in front and rear. You can change the width without problems as long as you check for clearance.

What I did with my 250 2x4 was moved the rears up front and went with a pair of 25X11X12's on the back, this gives you an inch higher and wider all around, they work great and I didn't lose any power (top or Bottom End). If price is an issue, check out Kenda Bear Claws...best all purpose tire out there, I plow mud and snow with them all year round here in ontario with no trouble at all...they are three times the tire that the Titan AT's are and half the price of most rubber out there.

Your 250 runs 23" front & 24" I believe, so you can rotate the rear tires (24") to the front & get a set of 25" tires for the rear. I think Mud bug make the only aggresive deep tread tire in those sizes, but you might be further ahead to get a set of Bear claws with less tread in thoses sizes & maintain a little more grunt from the 250 motor.
