2003 brakes

Mine were great, then one of the front lines got loose and I think I got air in the system. First pull is spongey, second pump is great. I think the air is by the resivore, I am hoping it will work itself out. Did something simaliar happen to you?

Disk brakes get wet when you go through mud and water. The sand and silt will sling up on the rotors and stick for a few minutes. It's just part of having disk brakes, they all do it. They are exposed to the elements.
I noticed my brakes tend to have a spongy feel on the first pull everytime.

thanks. i looked at a bombardier this weekend. the brakes are on the axles right up by the differential. same for the back brake, on the driveshaft. awesome idea, wish cat would have thought of that.

The whole reason is one master cylinder is not enough for the bike so go get another master cylinder for thr right side for the back only and your problem solved just like the 04 except it is on the foot brake hope this helps already tried new master cylinder and bleeding the brakes from the factory the brakes suck just a litlle separating and your good to go ask odbl

That happens with all disc brakes (cars and trucks included). Are you sure they are spongy? Usually, when the pads get wet, they slip more on the rotors, so it feels like the vehicle is much heavier than it is. Once you use the brakes a bit, they'll dry out, and it'll work like normal.
