Mudblaster,
Hows the toe shifter mod working?
I am cutting my shifter off this weekend. I have tried and tried to get used to the heel shifter but kept hitting it on the hills and throwing the bike into neutral..scarry..

i find it works very good.
but i was told after i cut it off i should have tryed to bend the heal kicker in towords the motor a little first and see how that worked. but oh well thats hind site.
but i like it this way now and i find it shifts pretty easy.
its a good mod.

I own a 2003 polaris 700 and a 2001 arctic cat 400 when I ride hard trails I take my 400 on bumpy trails I like my 700 but the 700s scary going down steep trails. My OLd 450 foreman was a work horse and Id take It on any trail and feel confident but my back would be soar at the end of the day.

This is what I do to make the Cat shifter work far better than the standard toe shifter, first bend the heel in toward the motor quite a bit, then be consious NOT to ride with your feet on the shifter , keep it outside & move it in to shift then back out again, works perfect when you get used to it & better than your toe stubbing shifter!!
