I think 98 was the year to buy Arctic Cat. I have heard a lot of stories about the 97 454's and the 99 and 00. My 98 454 now has 3700 miles on it and all i have done is change the oil clean the air filter. The tires are original and slick bald but thats about it. The gas gauge is full of sh*t but other than that i wouldnt trade it for any other brand.

Ok now that everyone has listed there problems. Please tell us how many times your could not get you back home.

I have only been pulled home once(and once to the gas station cause i ran out of gas). The reason I had tio be pulled home was because I lost my oil cap and alot of oil in the proces.

Im back just got a call today my 300 2000 is finally ready to pick up after taking it in to solve smoking and bad instrument lights it only took THREE MONTHS. But geuss what they put on a new top end to solve smoking but they cant fix the lights. They also say they have talked to arctic cat and they cant help and dont care.
Oh ya they say I can pick it up but the lights will not be fixed, and yes it is under warranty.
I have also talked to ac many times, they listen but they dont care and have done nothing to help me. I geuss we shouldnt expect much for 4750.

Boner,
The Kitten Always Got me home, However there were a few times it wouldn't let me leave home. It's a bummer to want to ride and your machine isn't up to the task.

At this point the dealer is the MOST important thing to consider.
On 4-25-2000 I purchased a Quad Master from Las Cruces Motor Sports in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I called them and they told me they had only one in stock and it was still in the crate. I ask them how long it would take them to get it ready to go and was told 4 hours. I went to the bank and got a cashiers check and drove over 100 miles to the dealer. I paid them and did all the paper work and went to the service department to see the new Quad, what a disappointment! The ""new in the box" Quad had scratches on every plastic part on the four wheeler. And the front luggage rack was also scratched. The front bumper has paint missing where the tape was pulled off. That didn't leave much that wasn't damaged. I think it had been in the showroom, Where people had sit on and scratch it up. The dealer told me they would replace every piece of plastic on the Quad. Yesterday the dealer called me for about the 3th time about the parts being there and that if I didn't come to the dealership by this Saturday 6-24-2000 they would ship them back to the warehouse and I would be out of luck. The drive to the dealer is over 100 miles one way, and they want me to leave the Quad and come back, thats well over 400 miles total. What did I do wrong here? Why should I drive 400 miles to get what I paid for in the first place? I called Suzuki customer service @714-996-7040 and was told that they would do what they could to get the dealer to handle this matter in a professional manner. Do I think I see a Honda in my future? YEP I do

2000 Quadmaster

It seems that the manufacturer can't control the dealers anymore. The dealers do control how you are going to be treated.
