Well I have a 99 500 4x4 and have had great fun but I think I have the one made on Friday afternoon at 4:30 by an upset employee. I had a transmission break and broke both of the inside cases on the motor and broke everything but the top end. That cost $2500, all of these under warranty. I had two oil leaks prior to that both under factory 6 month warranty. I had to get the switch and harness for the start in gear stuff fixed, $218. Had new ball joints installed on the front end, $400. In the shop right now for the left front hub assembly coming off basically, needs hub, spindle, rotor, caliper, axle, both A-arms and ball joints, mostly all of these got torn up because I was about 15 miles from the truck. Still awaiting price. But other thatn that I love the machine. Who has had worse than that?

Only real problems I have had was the waterpump seal going out and 2 bearings going out in the rear end.

I think my bike was made by the very same disgruntled employee. I have a 2000 250 AC and so far everything from the throttle to the carburator has broke. I've had it 7 months and have had 4 oil changes, replaced spark plug 3 times, adjusted carburator 2 times, adjusted valves 2 times, new muffler has to be installed, not to mention the cost of transporting this thing back and forth to our dealer, which is not close! The bike is great looking, but AC have a lot of research and development to do!

Hey littlecat my girlfriend and I each have AC 250's and have had almost the same troubles to the tee. I just got mine back today with a new mufler and bushing for my loose handlebars. We have had all the problems you have stated and the bikes are also 7 months old and you are right about the transporting part, you are lucky you only have one to transport one I have two. This experience that was supposed to be a fun investment has brought more headaches than fun. We probably bought the bikes from the same place, what part of CB are you from?

My 97 454 I had to rebuild the rear shaft and it blew a frt. CV joint so I replaced the shaft 1500mi.
The 00 500 under warranty they replaced the speedometer ( the tripometer screw got lost) relpaced the right rear axle (the studs broke) also replaced all the frt. brake componets. the master cyl, all the hoses and calipers . The bike had no brakes and they could not figure why, I needed the bike so I took all the parts off the 454 and put them on the 500 and then there were brakes.
The dealer said there was a mid production change and my bike has the new calipers and not the new master cyl. so they gave me all the parts and put them back both together.
Also found out that if you leave the frt. of the bike jacked up for 2 weeks all the gas passes the needle and seat in the carb and fills the crank case with gas, That was fun but that is another story ... Bill

Well I've had just about everything go wrong with my AC 300 4x4 dont even want to get into it about it but it seems Arctic Cat is just one step above Polaris Everyone I know that has one is dissapointed with the quality of the AC.Just goes to show Americans should stick to building hamburgers and stay awy from motors Even our Harley breaks down more than our 15yr old honda 300xr and I beat the hell out of that bike to.Want quality buy Japenese!!!I will from now on!Oh yeah before all the die hard American purchasers rip on this saying Arctic Cat is Japenese because everything is made by Suzuki well just look at everyones complaints it seems brakes, speedos, cables, shafts, joints, mufflers, and everything else that isnt suzuki is whats breaking according to the dealer AC only uses Suzuki motors and gear boxes because AC's frames are bigger and completly diffrent from all other suzukis every thing else was made by AC such as brakes, drive shafts, mastercylinders, speedos, cables, mufflers etc.....AnywaY lAtEr
