Aftermarket stuff for Arctic Cat.

Well I just got off the phone with one of the guys at Highlifter. I was going to ask him if I could put the SuperTrapp IDS muffler that fits the LTF500 on my quad and before I could finish my question he told me it would not fit.
But he said to give him 60 days because they are working with SUPERTRAPP to try to get them to make one for the Arctic Cats.
I also called Progressive Suspension and they said that an owner of a 300 Arctic Cat is sending them a shock so they can start making shocks for Arcric Cats. The reason they don't yet is because there are no Arctic Cat dealers, according to him, in Progressive's area.
I will also be calling Twin Air to see if they want to start making filters ofr Arctic Cats. If not I will try to put the 2000 models' foam air filter on my 99 model.

Hey Andy have you been doing any steep area that really called for a locker?? I am not bragging on my atv but I haven't found anything reasonable or really reasonable mine wouldn't go up also was wondering when I was in the swamp the other day when all 4 wheels were spinning if it had something close to a locker would really like to know what kind of set up the AC 500 auto has on the front...getting ready for a big ride tomorrow...

Atving- I probably wouldn't ever put a locker on an atv anyway, because like you said, there just aren't enough places that you would ever NEED it. I wouldn't compromise the steering effect the locker would inhibit. Not worth it to me. The only times I've not been able to climb hills on mine were one at an angle that was real muddy (not on a road, just plowing around in the woods) where I got a front in the air a bit and had the rest spin out big time. I'm not sure I could have made it even with a locker because it was too slick and steep, and all four would have probably spun out anyway. Another was a steep hill that got a little less steep in the middle and had a log in the middle of it. I could creep over the log (which was scary as hell seeing its already on an incline) but couldn't get the rears over it. Not enough pull from the front tires, plus it was really close to high-centering the quad anyway. The other spot where a locker might have helped was when I got stuck in the lake. If I had a locker when I first got in, I might have made it out, but after I dug out the bottom a bit, a locker wouldn't have helped either. Just would have spun all fours while the frame was stuck and I would have just dug in deeper.

Boner- the air filter on your 500 is reusable. I've taken mine off and washed it completely. Not just the foam wrap either. The whole thing is washable, just make sure you let it dry out completely. It would probably be good to go ahead and spray it out with an air hose too.
