2002 400i carb problems?
#1
Had to take the carb apart and get it cleaned because of bad gas. The gas nowadays just doesn't seem to last like it used to. I could not get any revs past about half throttle.
Anyway the problem now is that after heavy use (plowing snow etc) the quad won't idle worth s@#t. If you leave it off for a few minutes and restart, then it idles fine. Any ideas?

Check your carb vent hose it may be obstructed or have a slight bend in it.
Its a clear type gas hose that can become pinched when you take your tank on and off.
If you did not remove the tank you may still want to take a look at it.
Good luck!

This is a common problem everywhere with poor gasoline. I have been adding a fuel stablizer to my gas tank, as recommended by my dealer. The results is- no more gas problems. Just follow the instructions on the amout of fuel-stablizer to use per gallon & don't get carried away with adding this stuff. It will burn fine in your engine, so don't worry about that. I only use it once every 4 tank fill-ups or unless the 4wheeler sits for long periods without being started & used.
You may also want to go somewhere else for your gas or jump up to the next octane level. The problem may be in the storage tanks at the gas station & the higher octane storage tanks may not have this problem of bad gas.
