I just went and picked up my Cat from the dealer. While I was there I picked up a NKG CRE8 spark plug AND a 2001 brochure.

Here is what I would like to confirm:

2. 4.75 gallon tank from the auto now on every model
3. red or green plastic on every model
4. new "rocky mountain" graphics on every model
5. NEW 250 4X4
6. 500 manual gets 2wd/4wd selector
7. bigger plastic stick stoppers
8. back-up hydraulic foot brake standard on BOTH 500s
9. 5w-30 Actic Cat oil(accessories
10. windshields(accessories)
11. 250 2x4 has high, low, and superlow(I think it's a typo)
12. 250 4x4 has FULL TIME 4X4
13. 250 4x4 weights 575 lbs
14 250 has 23x8x12 front 489s and 24x10x12 489s
15. 250-300 models have 17 amp alternators
16. gas gauge standard on all models
17. 850 lbs towing capacity on 250-300(LOWERED???)
18. Rear suspension on 400-500's now called 'ACT-independent"
19. Front racks on the 500 models look more like 400-250 models
20. all models have the steel brake resovior


I don't think I left any thing out, but if I did please tell me.

 

I was at my dealer today picking up a light bulb and he had a 500 4x4 manual with a black engine instead of the traditional aluminum or whatever it is. Is this a change for '01?
PS: He also carries Ducati motorcycles, so he had Amsoil 2-stroke racing injection oil.

 

No this has BEEN like this. The 400s have the aluminim look and all 500s have black motors.

 

Oh OK I just looked in my '00 brochure and noticed the black motor. I wonder why this is?
