With all the rain we have been getting here lately my creek has filled up big time. Normally after a big rain I wait for the water to settle and clear up. Also for it to go down a little bit before I ride through it. Yesterday evening I decided to go through around dusk. I went through all the normal places but the water was a little stronger than expected so I wasn't able to back back out of the area I was in. I decided to go on down until I could get to my neighbors driveway and get out. When I did this it was getting dark so I turned on the lights. I was almost to the driveway when I remembered I was to a big pool of water. On either side was an unclimbable hill so I decided to forge the rest of the creek. It was deeper than expected and even full throttle in 2nd gear took for ever to get through a 20 foot long pool of water.(Idon't know how deep). When I checked the air filter there wasn't a drop of water. The only water I found was a little around the battery compartment. Thank goodness AC's air intake is high up on the bike. The CAT needed a bath anyway"Willing or not"!

You could probably use a bath yourself. Its been quite a while since the first Saturday of the month. What in the hell were you doing playing in the water when its 35 degrees outside?

Thank you Andy for reminding me I needed a bath. It has been a while. You had one thing wrong, its the 1st Sunday of the month. I didn't figure I would get wet was the reason I was playing in the water. I didn't either now did I? I almost did but came out dry as a bone.

It was over the racks when I went in because it dropped way off. I turned though so I wouldn't sink down in because I have no idea how high the water was. I know it was over the racks because most of the way through my headlights were under water and barely visible. The water was strong too because I couldn't back it up the creek very good.

How did you stay dry? Were you standing on the handle bars?

I bet the current is the reason you were able to use 2nd gear, because I find that 2nd in a pond, that is only alitte past the floorboards, is to high.

Boner- I wasn't quite standing on the handle bars, but any deeper and might have tried it. I was standing on the seat waiting for my headlights to come up and hoping they didn't disapear any farther under water than they already were. Like I said before I didn't know how deep this pool of water was especialy with the creak up and rolling pretty good. The only reason I went through it in second gear is because I had made it the whole way like that and I wasn't about to slow down any more than I had to if the water got deeper than it already was.
