I have a y2k ac 500 auto and when going down real steep hills, I apply the brake and I experiance some wheel hop and a metal clicking sound. The cat is new so I dont think there is any cause for alarm, But what is the clicking metal sound. Also the hills are real steep.
Thanks SLY

If the noise only happens while going down hill in 2 wheel drive and applying the rear brakes only, that is normal. It is caused by uneven torque loading on the limited slip cams in the front differential. If the hand brake is used, the noise should diminish. There should be no noise from the front end if you are in 4 wheel drive and you apply either the hand or foot brakes.

Mine does it too but only when in two wheel drive, breaking, down steep hills. I attribute it to "slop" between the tranny and wheels. When it does it, look at your rear wheels, I think you will find not only wheel hop, but the wheels lock, unlock, lock, etc...
