Default AC650 Brake question

I can't get my AC650 to stop while going down hill. I squezed with all my might with the lever and I can't get it to stop until I'm on flat ground. It does slow slightly but won't stop. The dealer told me that when AC went to hydraulic brakes the brakes never seem to work right. I guess there is no fix. The foot brake is useless. I can't even drag my feet. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Sounds like you need to talk to another dealer. The hand brake should stop the 650 fairly quick. You may have some bad O-rings or some air in the line.

CR724 is right, sounds like you have air in the system and need to bleed the brakes. Or one or more of the calipers could be frozen. Under normal conditions hydraulic brakes will outstop manual about 2 to 1. We are also talking disc brakes and they don't work well manually as it takes to much muscle to apply enough pressure, where as hydraulic can do it easily. I thing your dealer is a moron or his mechanic is, probaly lazy too.

Default AC650 Brake question

Thanks, the problem is, this dealer is the closest one and it's 60 miles (one way), Well, there is one that is closer, but he wanted to charge me $1000 more for a non MRP, so I bought it at another dealer. The dealer said he bled the brakes already. I did all the 30 mph 10x to seat the brakes and it didn't help.

1. Engine braking does not work right.
2. No brakes
3. Hard to start (when started won't stay running).
4. Now I found moisture behind the plastic digital display.

I now have 4miles on it. 4 miles 4 problems. I hate to see what 5 miles brings.

I'm bringing it to the dealer this weekend, I just wanted to ask him about some fixes. I just don't know if there are any. Sounds like the nature of the beast "In my case."

I'm starting to get a little frustrated... When I call the dealer, they say bring it in. I don't think they are fighting me.

Default AC650 Brake question

I have read somewhere that from the factory the discs come with a protective covering, like the protective covering plexiglass has so you do not scratch it. If this protective layering is not removed when the machine is serviced before it is sold, the brakes will not work. Maybe this will help you out.

The protective coating post is correct. If it isn't removed the brakes won't work very well. I sent you a private message with some more info. CK it out

Default AC650 Brake question

Redmtn, Sounds like these guys are on to something about the coating. My brakes work fine and I have never had a problem with them on my 300 also. If they are not branished good they don't want to hold good though. I need to take mine back because the engine braking is not the best, but it does work. Sounds like your dealer is not to sharp. Good luck, I think these are good 4 wheelers.

Default AC650 Brake question

Thanks, I just got off the phone with the dealer. He said he would check and fix everything, even replace the digital display with a new one. I don't want to say anything bad about the dealer because I think they are trying to resolve the problems. They have also been very busy but still fit me in. I also don't want to say too many good things about the dealer because I will get jinxed. Thanks for all of your responses.

homer;
Usually engine braking problems are caused by improper belt adjustment
