I did a quick look and it looks to be tucked under there pretty good, much harder to get at than the 500. Do you have to remove plastic to get at it? Or am I missing something?

I don't know about the easiest way but I took off the skid plate and used a pair of vice grips and a fan belt(the proper wrench would be the easy way)

Just remove the small black plastic panel & use a 3/8" Dr. oil filter tool, available at many places, or a strap wrench, no problem. Regards, Jerico1

Looked to me like a lot of oil from the filter would drain onto the skid plate.I'm not into oil stains.

The way Jerico1 does it is also the way I do it. Much easier & quicker than removing the skid plate. All you need to do is place a thin pan or some rags under the filter to catch any oil from the filter.
