you would.

Easy enough, it only goes as fast as you make it go. And a sixth gear won't pull 70 out of an arctic cat 500 either. Might actually get it to 60 though (and not by the AC speedometer's reading either).

there is always a slowpoke to rain on the parade.

I agree with bluethumb...50mph is plenty fast enough. If you want to go faster than that, you should consider buying a sport/racing atv.

I have had my 2003 arcticcat 500 automatic read at 63mph on gravel with the wind and about 59 against the wind. No joke! I'm not sure if the speedo is off or not.

I could get my 99 up to 59-60 on the speedometer, but with a GPS, it read about 53 at best. Ticked me off at the time, cause I thought the thing was going faster. But the same holds true with the Grizzly. I've had that speedometer to 69 before, but every time I take a GPS out with it, its always about 5mph slower than what its reading. I don't know about the new AC's with the digital speedo, but the analogs were normally pretty optimistic. I think most of them are optimistic across the board though, because every shootout you ever see, regardless of what the bike is, the speedometer always is showing faster than what their radar guns tell them.

Yup, and it's always the slow poke picking up your mangled a*s out of the rhubarb.

Good thing dude, find me a slowpoke and give me his number. Haven't managed to mangle my a$$ in rhubarb in 19 years of riding quads, but it would be nice to have it in a pinch.

mudblaster- no, the tranny & engine still run perfect. I put a new axle and hubs on it, new bearings and brake parts here and there, and then complete new plastic all around. I ordered plastic for a 98 model rather than an 89, because the newer 300's had better plastic, and it cost a lot more to get the crappier old 89 version body panels. The rims are stock, I just painted them. We rolled that thing about 6 months after we bought it and its been all crap looking for years. I just decided it was time to fix all that stuff last year and it turned out pretty good.
