My 04, had a friend that was a Suzuki tech mess with the carb. I assure you she will do 60 on a fairly level dirt road. Bought it new in 06. Now, getting it to stop is another story. Cant find a master cylinder for the rear brakes any where. That led me here.

 

Should be able to find the master cylinder from a dealer. My 02 was missing one. Got one from Country Cat. BTW there is a fair bit that you can do to the old Suzuki motors. I had a 2001, put a Web Racing Cam, 5 degree timing advance key , gutted the muffler and tuned the carburetor with a wideband. Sold it to a friend, hadn't driven it for quite a while. He let me drive it tonight. It hit 62 mph on the GPS. Feels nearly as strong as my 2014 TRV 700. Oh, it's on 30" Mudzillas. Feels way less safe than the TRV 700, though. I would not do the racing cam again, though it gave more bottom end grunt.

 

Its fast enough for me.
