Default 2005 AC model availability question...

My signature says it all... I'm some pissed off-

I ordered a 2005 AC 500 4x4 auto back in the early part of August, somewhere just before the weekend of the 14th. The dealer told me that he would have no problem getting it for the 21st... I couldn't make the trip to pick it up that weekend, so I told him I'd be up on the 28th. Since then I've gotten nothing but smoke every week, and right now I'm looking at 9/18, but I'm not holding my breath anymore. I was excited as heck about the whole thing early on, but the luster is off the apple, if you know what I mean. My dilema is that I'm pretty sure I'm getting a great deal (if it ever shows up), so I'm not quite ready to walk away (although last weekend I came sooooo close to saying *-it).

My question is this: Those of you that have 2005 models already, did you order them like in March to have them already or what? The guy I'm getting it from says he is a highly rated dealer in the eyes of AC, but it's pissing me off to hear "it's sitting in Minnesota waiting to be shipped" every damn week. To make matters worse, he comes highly rated from people I trust, and that have worked for him in the recent past (hence the good deal...) I don't know what I'm gonna do if it isn't in come this next saturday...

Any input would be appreciated-

MBullism; I don't know about your dealer and how he operates, but my dealer has '05's on the floor. Every model from the 50 kiddie bikes up to a 650. The 400's are $5700 plus tax out the door and the 500's are $900 more.

He's moved some '05's already... he doesn't have them from the 50 all the way up, but what he had on the floor just wasn't what I wanted... he had red and lime and some LE's, but I hadda want the marsh green so he said he could get one... If it ever shows up it'll be cheaper than 6600 out the door before the winch, tax, etc... I think it's worth hanging in there but it sure is frustrating...

Default 2005 AC model availability question...

I stopped by a dealer in Michigan this past Thursday to see if he had a 05 500 manual shift.
He had every 05 500 model possible in autos but no shifts.
I said I would like to have it for a trip next week but could live without it.
He called his A.C. rep and had one brought in from another dealer 500 miles away on Friday
and I picked it up Sat. morning.
Sorry for you troubles, just posting my good experience.

Sorry to hear about your luck. But with the improvements made to the '05 500 model, I 'm sure it will be worth the wait!

Rem-

is that a 500 LE or a 400? 5800 is awesome if it's the 500, I'd venture to say giving part of it away.... For what it's worth I got an invoice report on this bike and 5800 without the LE was listed as dealer cost without shipping or setup...

<<edit>>
Just saw your thread about horsepower out of an 05 500... I think you stole that thing! congrats!
<<edit>>

My guy just the end of last week said he'd try other dealers... The story goes that this thing is built, sitting in a crate in MN waiting for more bikes to be headed to the northeast to justify shipping it, that they don't want to send a truck with just one bike... The story sounded plausible the first time and maybe the week after... but it's getting old. I guess I finally got far enough up this guys butt to get him to search other dealers. He may also given me too low a price to make any effort on his part cost effective... (I hope)

Thanks for the replies, guys (gals?)

My dealer has had '05's in stock for a couple of months. The only thing my dealer lacked was some manual transmission models.
