If your buddy enjoys improved performance with his multiple-ground ("Splitfire" type) plug, I'm happy for him!

Ironically, NGK, in its informative FAQ segment of its website, minimizes the advantage of such spark plug design!

NGK's well-written, idiomatic colloquial English explanations, provide a lot of information about spark plugs in general and NGK's (e.g., does increasing numbers indicate "colder" or "hotter" plugs? What's the significance of heat range, anyway?) in particular.

The "Splitfire" mechanism is explained, along with the situations where the design provides an advantage (and where it does not).

Don't have the URL handy; unleash your browser on "spark plugs," if that doesn't work, E-mail me.

(What am I saying? No one, to my knowledge and belief, EVER checked a reference I provided, including ones available from the ATV Connection home page!)

Next time you go to buy a spark plug for your AC ask for a NGK CR8EK...this is a
"split fire" type spark plug...and will fit a 454 and 500...my buddy with the 500 said he could tell a little difference. I havnt had a chance to try one yet.
