Was not going to buying one if this kept happening.

got the reset plug, and the dealer said he would give me the filter to install as well.

This was really starting to get to me.

I also made a MOD as you will say: I took the switch, chopped off the rivets, tapped & epoxy'd 2 bolts upside down in the clutch cover, 2 nuts on top of the switch. now it comes off to reset ( if it has to ) in about 20 seconds. no more removing the cover.

Now I will want to get a Full Exhaust as well.

any recomendations???

Speedwerks just came out with a full pipe. Got to hear it a few weeks ago and it's sounds awesome.

 

can't remember what the guys name was but he fabricated a true dual exhaust system on his 650 with 2 baby glasspacks one out each side i am gonna do it to mine just gotta get my belt situated and then if i have time after deer season i will

 

I saw some site that shows how to mod the pipe for better flow. Cut the very end off, use a 12" long x 3/8" bit, and drill 7 holes around the main pipe. Reweld the cap back on and away you go. I'll sacrafice the power for how quiet it is, myself.

 

I used a 1/2" drill and made eight holes 12" long.More power and not much louder,sounds cool.

 

Your machine should have come with a reset switch/tool. Ask your dealer for it. Ours (where we purchased the machine) would not give us one, however another dealer was happy to and said it should have come with our manual.

 

Hey guys, just bought my AC 650 last Saturday. Rode it 30+ miles that day, fell in love with it. I previously had a 2001 AC 400 4x4, literally had 0 problems with it. So naturally I bought another AC. I had riden my new one a couple of times this week around my house. Yesterday while going to the mailbox on it, it crashed face first with its belt light on, and from what I have already read in this forum ....you know the rest of the story. I am very thankful that I found this forum because it saved me from going 50 miles back to my dealer, which I found out this morning had no idea about any limp mode problem, or so they say. I went step by step from the instructions I found ont this site and in less than 10 min. I was back to full throttle. Some times it isn't what you know, it's who you know that counts. I have a friend with a Kawi 360 that has almost the same issues as the Prarie 650's and the Cat 650's. Know we know. FYI I used about a 3 inch piece of wire to jump out my plug and it worked fine.

The first time gimp mode hit me it was in black fly season and I didn't fully read the instructions,took me probably an hour,man did I ever curse!!I missed the part where it said to un-plug the two wire plug.D'oh!!

 

Luckily I was in my own yard and not 3 hrs away from home riding like I was on Saturday. But what ticked me off about the whole thing was, IT HAD 41 MILES ON IT!! I was very p'od since it even still had not burnt off the new smell.
