Anyway to get around the heal toe shift on a 300 4x4 ?

Raising the rear up shift rocker an inch - now why didn't I think of that. Hello, McFly. That's a great idea. My approach was a littlle different. With my grinder I removed the serrated foot pegs. Took them off just leaving the flat running boards. Obviously needed some "non skid" to prevent slipage so took the runing boards to Rino Lining and had them coated. The foot peg removal means less interference, which in turn makes shifting easier with the rocker. The flat running boards with the small amount of padding (~3/16") provided by the Rion Lining is very comfortable for long trail rides, and also provides some non skid ability so your feet won't slip. I liked it so well I did the same to the 500.
The 300 is a great machine. Quiet, economical, and will go about anywhere the larger machines will go...only not as fast. I have no problem cruising on improved trails and gravel roads at 40-45MPH, and that's fast enough to get in trouble. It's a little "darty" with the light front end of a 4x2, but a 4x4 should be much better.
