Honda Rules!
#1
This is a statement I hear all the time from one of my buddys. I swear his Honda 300 4wd can do anything that any other bike can. Including outrun it. I really do not like braggers and all the forums on here have them. A little is OK, but **** enough is enough. the bike you buy is more than likely the best one for you. Some don't think like this. Their bike just has to be the best. He feels if it is not a Honda it isn't good. He got on it about a month after I bought it and got it broken in good, and after he found out it had a few fine points to it he did not like it. What posseses someone to do this? It is actually funny in a way.

I was just using him as an example. I mostly find it humorous. I was just wondering if anyone new anyone else that ignorant. He is an Ok guy, but is like any other "sold on one product and that's it" person. I figure we could get a few good laughs out of this one so what the heck.

I think the "my quad's bestest" syndrome comes from the inability of the boaster to distinguish where his own personality ends and his quad's begins.
In other words, inside, a small voice tells your friend and those like him, "you are your quad." Thus, any cricitcism of his quad becomes a criticism of himself; a feeling of his own personal inferiority compels him to insist his quad "rules," whatever that means.
Just a theory, and I'm no psychologist. However, I must say, regardless of the cause of this "my quad's bestest" disease, there's an awful lot of it going around! I fear the epidemic is spreading, reading some posts appearing on the Forum.

A guy on my deer lease swears whatever bike he's got is the best and tries to talk everyone into buying the same machine he's got. That's how I ended up with my second machine, a slow and boring bayou 300. After that I bought what I wanted.
He was trying to talk everyone into his artic cat 454 until it was spending to much time int the shop (5000 miles on it), so he bought a grizzly as a back up and now is trying to talk everyone into it. He still "loves" his 454 but it spends a lot of time sitting or in the shop.
The constant "my bikes the one to have" get's old quik.
