Default Blow Back In The Airbox

Just went on my second decent ride with the new '04 650 which now has around 120 miles on it and noticed oil all over my boot. The whole belt side of the motor was covered and I followed the leakage up to the little check valve thing on the airbox. I took the filter off and there was a good amount of oil in there. It has never been rolled, no extreme wheelies, I noticed it after a 5 mile trip on a secondary road at a 40mph sustained speed. So what I am asking, is blow back normal? Do I have a problem? Thanks.

Brian

I had a simmilar problem right after my dealer did the first service. They apparently did not read the book about the capacity, it had been way overfilled, causing the oil to back up into the air breather . What a mess!!!!

I also had the same problem. When the dealer did the first oil change, they overfilled it and the bottom of the air cleaner was soaked with oil after high speed rides. I read another post that suggested to keep the oil level just below the full mark, so far so good.
