whats up guys.i have an 05 650.great machine i already have24 hours on it .no complaints except the stock rawhide tires but ive replaced them with atrs.makes a significant difference. i have property in new york in chanengo county.about 1 hour from syracuse

 

spikeland, how are those fenders holding out for you? Do they have some good flex in them when you smash into a tree?

I did hear that the 05 fenders are more resistant to showing scratches. Another plus for the '05 is that the racks are bigger. I still like the old metal footwells, though. I've never ridden the 500, and it may be a great engine, but the 650 is sweet throughout the power band. It has a great sound, too. It is easy to modulate as conditions warrant. Everyone talks about its big power, but it is very civilized, too. It does everything well.

I'm glad to hear that some folks have tested the new fenders on trees and that they seem to hold up. Cat seems to really know how to make tough machines. Mine have certainly proved that. Next year I hope to experience the 500 engine in the form of a TRV. I wonder if the 06 TRV will come with the new plastic?
