Default Cat(s) did me proud today...

Went out for a good romp today, first time with the new bike where getting stuck was the objective... and failed miserably. The AC 400 along for the ride also did well except for a little rider error (sorry Joe . Never had to break out a winch cable, but the suzuki along with us need a helping hand a few times... there's no substitute for ground clearance and IRS We tackled all the worst spots on the property- deep mud, rutted mud, climbs, fallen trees, technical rocks, and straight runs and the AC500 continues to impress. It's a bit sluggish in the mud yet, I think the 400 did better in some spots, but overall I'm still tickled with it. Hoping the mudding gets easier/less sluggish when the motor hits a few hundred miles...

Still convinced I made the right choice-

I mentioned this in another post, but it bears repeating. Our 400's were a bit unimpressive when we first got them (power wise). But now that we've got well over 1000 miles on both of them, there's all kinds of new-found power. So, I would guess that as you pile up the miles (and hopefully not the machine - ha), you'll notice a pleasant increase in your power.

Thats' my understanding, MrTommy. The 400 along with us has a few hundred miles on it, and it's owner said that it was doggish at first and perked up considerably after 200 miles or so... His 400 did well, better in some mud than I did for sure, IMHO. ('course I still contend that me going through first moved the slop and gave him a clear shot!)

I meant to do that ,Getting the front-end off the ground is just part of the fun ,the more I do it the more I want to do it again .I do have to admit the first time going over that fallen tree I was in two wheel drive ,I just wanted to see if it could be done .
I do have to say that the tree was at least 5in off the ground and with a diameter of around 13in or so,this was no fallen twig and my 400 went over it as wall as the 500 ,when I made contact with the tree I hit the throttle so the front end would jump up and over the top ,I at no time felt out of control or felt it would fall back on top of me .so far I love this bike .

My 400 has done nothing but impress me ,I finely made it to 301 miles
Possibly fully broken in with plenty of power for my ageing body .

Hey jwoodsman, my aging body is almost 59. How far along is yours...? I wish we'd have discovered this fun stuff years ago.

I know, I know..you keep saying that "you meant to do that", lol. You sir, did not have the benefit of seeing the look on your face when the front end came down on the rubber instead of the racks, hehe.

Almost have 400 miles on our 05 AC400 4x4 auto. Its amazing how the more you run it the better it gets.

I was also amazed at how deep of snow I can ride through. In low with the front diff locked, I was plowing through at least 2 and a half feet of it. Makes me want to trade my Raptor for a 650....nah ill keep the raptor.

I'm working on 35 ,I've done some pretty stupid things in the day, now a day doesn't go by without a reminder of the past .

That was the look of pure joy and excitement on my face that I did it without soiling my self .

My mistake- : )
