Can anyone help me match up the inner cv boot, with an automotive replacement. The inner boot has been sheared off, again, due to the rear cv boot protectors. The protectors are original cat accessories for the 250-300 class atv's. Dealer won't help. The application is a 2000 300 4x4 right hand rear cv boot. Thanks in advance.

A couple of years back I tore the CV boot on my Yamaha Timberwolf. I also tried to find an auto equivalent with no luck. I went to the local Autozone and asked to see a boot from a Geo Metro (the smallest car I could think of). It looked HUGE compared to the ATV boot.
You would think these boots would be all over the aftermarket mailorder catalogs since they are the wimpiest part of any ATV.

Autozone carrys a "universal" cv boot kit. You trim it to fit. Itcomes with grease and clamps. This worked on my 454 it might work for you.

Good Luck

PS if the Guards are causing this problem. Fix them, You can bend or cut as needed to solve the problem. If that dosn't work, take em off. If they are ripping the boots there not "guarding" them!!

I don't know if this helps but I have replaced both inner & outer on the front of my 2000 300 & used a boot from a honda civic & a Renault LeCar they fit & worked perfect at a cost saving of, A/Cat $42.95 CDN Auto boots $6.00 CDN a piece. Let me know boot dimensions the 2 I.D's & length & I'll look up application.

The dealer fixed the guards after the first torn boot.(Bent them) The guards sheered the boot bands right off after only a few miles. Now the guards wore the rubber boots ridges right off. I noticed the problem while trying to grease the rear knuckle then I decide to fix the guards myself.

The suzuki boots are completely different. They don't match at all. The king quad has only one cv boot on the rear shafts.Their like night and day ,from the cat's. From checking the new suzuki over at the dealer it sure makes me glad I own a cat.
The King quad is so small looking and everything is cramped. The boots id dimensions are; 2 7/8 X 3/4, Lenght on axle shaft 3". Length off shaft,no load is 3 1/2. The boots look almost the same as the front inboard boots. Thanks in advance.

Jett according to your dim, that boot is the same as one of the fronts. Use auto boot for 91-95 Chev Sprint O.B. will fit perfect.

Thanks. I ordered the boot this morning from my local parts supplier. I'll pick it up on Wednesday. The cat dealer lists two seperate part numbers for both front and rear boots, even though he said he can't see any difference. Once again thanks for all the help.
