I have a dvx400... and i am needing to check the plug, as i have not checked it since i bought it new.
The question i am asking is; IS there some special tech. to getting the plug out???? almost looks like i need to take the gas tank off to get it out... do i have to take all the plastic off.. then the tank????

Should be like the Z. Get the toolkit under the seat, should be a spark plug socket and a 17mm wrench. Pull wire off of plug, and angle the socket up in the recess on the bottom of the tank- should slide right in. Have fun unscrewing it as its got miles of thread, and its really fun when doing plug chops on a hot motor.

If you have not pulled the plug yet, try to blow out the area around the plug with compressed air first. Might be loose dirt and crap just waiting to fall in when you pull the plug out. Also, coat the threads of the plug with anti-seize before reinstalling if possible.
