Default Ride Adjustment

I have an 03, AC500i and have yet to be able to move the adjustment on the shocks. Straight out of the box I broke the wonderful cast spanner that came with the rig. Bought a steel one and they still will not budge. Is there something I'm missing. Need some input.

I too have yet to try it, but they say that if you jack the ATV up so the front tires are off the ground it is a lot easier. Give it a shot. Good luck!

Just spray a little WD-40 on it and use 2 hands. It worked for me, even with the cheesy tool they gave me.

Oregoner,
Where did you get the "steel spanner" for shock adjustment? You are right, the OEM unit is cheezy and having one more substantial would be a good thing. I haven't broken mine yet, but bent it significantly. The WD-40 is a good suggestion. Soak each shock and add a little grease on the "notches" of the adjustment.

Squirt them down with wd-40, jack the wheeler up, grab them with a channel locks, the'll turn easy.

Oregoner, if you post your email I'll send you some pics of my 04 fender flares. I put one in my pictures today, should be approved soon.

Thanks a Million for the ideas, will give it another try. I got the spanner at a local tool supply house.

The WD40 idea and taking the weight off the shock are the best ideas and it works. The first time I adjusted mine, I used water and took the wieght off. I also held the wrench tightly as close to the working end as I could get so as not to have leverage break the handle.
