Default 2005 400 manual shift

I went in last week to get my 01 250 serviced. I left with a 05 400 manual! I love it! I got a great trade $2100 for a quad I paid $3,000 for 4 years ago! The dealer gave it to me for an even $3k plus trade with 2 year warranty. I took it out with my buddy (he has 01 360 Kawai) and we had loads of fun. I would love to hear suggestions to improve quad that some of you have made.

Nats; Did you get the $69 2500# winch? You will never even come close dollar wise if you didn't.

No. I paid cash for quad and did not know they had a $69 winch. You think I paid to much?

No, you got a good deal, I would just go back to the dealer and ask about that $69 winch. He should have told you about that!!!

I called. He told me that he gave me way more on trade then he should have becuase I have been a loyal customer. The winch he can not do at $69 becuase of this. kinda a bum deal but the 250 needed 4 tires 2rims and brakes. I will look into adding one later. They that good to have? I use a tow rope or a manual tag along.

He lies, the winch doesn't cost him a dime as Arctic Cat pays him the difference or doesn't charge him anymore than $69. Otherwise it's a freebe and he is keeping the winch and gonna sell it at retail and make mucho money. I would contact Arctic Cat direct and complain. I paid about a $100 less than you in for my 400 I manual with cash and still got the winch for $69. Man he is screwin' you. Not an honest dealer for sure.

Again- Bear is right. Thats horse crap. Back when I bought my 500 in 1998, they had the warn 2000 for $100 back then with a new quad. My uncle bought a brand new 98 model 454 (that was still leftover) in Fall of 99, and the dealer even gave him the winch deal that year. On a quad that was purchase when 2000 models were even available, and they still gave him the winch deal.

They don't have to pay for those winches. They get reimbursed through the manufacturer. It would be worth it to rattle his cage a little I think. Thats a crock.

I spoke to the sales manager this morning. He explained that the deal was based on the loss he will take on my trade (he will I know) with out the promo's. The winch cost $400 installed that is the best he will do. I can live with out a winch....never had one before. learning lesson for the future. My guess is they will write up a winch for my sale and hit Artic Cat up for the dollars....maybe time to rethink my loyalty to the dealership.

Nats; Tell him you will install the winch youself. It will take about two hours. I did mine that way. My dealer said $125 to install. That's what they do with everyone, your guy is a cheat. If he won't let you have the winch for $69 bucks contact Arctic Cat, they will not be happy with him.
