What is going on, this is really dumb, if they stopped production of them why didn't they just say that, I figure either there was a problem with them or they've decided to add EFI to them and that is what is taking so long, having to re test it. I'm leaning towards the EFI part, just have a feeling.

Anyone know any more info.

Don't count on the EFI, they already put it in their broucher as a carb model. Word has it that the 500 will be the first to get the EFI. Otherwise, I have NO IDEA where the HI is. They shouldn't have included it as a 2005 model, and just continued to work on it if it is taking them this long. Poor guys here like Ethernut have been waiting for a long time.

I spoke to my dealer in Washington State just after Christmas and they said they have been told they would see them at the dealer EXPO. Which I think was the end of June or first part of July.

They did not have any knowlege as to why they were not out yet. But, they did have some smoking deals on 04 and 05 400's and 500's. I tried to swing a new machine , I winned, cried, pouted, Threw a tantrum and my wife still said NO. guess I'll have to try the "daughter needs a bike too angle".

They did confirm a rumor I heard that the H1 may be coming out with a manual shift though. Which will make me think more than twice about getting one.

It is kind of dumb for them not to be out but maybe they are attempting to fix some bug so we don't have to mess with it. (like the Wimp mode thing)

Hey swampy, one bad thing about living in the "bush" of Alaska, that smoken good deal would still cost you an extra $1000 to ship out to Sand Point!!! And the barge is still 4+ months away!!!

Work the Bugs out of what? A cylinder jug and a piston??? How many "Bad" engines have you heard of lately?

The tranny is a proven duramatic.

There will be no bugs with the H1 engine and tranny beyond normal wear and tear.

It's taking so long because they want to make sure EVERYTHING is tip top. It's also going to be black which tells me that they've had to have new plastic made for it. I'm also told that they will be in very limited supply, apparently Cat is fairly overwhelmed with demand across their entire product line.

The H1 engine has been in development for over 3 years, there are no new patents on the engine. They are using tried and true technology in it's contruction, they've contracted with a famous German firm to help them make it successful. How many German engine makers that make bad engines do know of? That's right, none. They spin every one on a dyno before it leaves the engine shop. Let me tell you that NO ONE in the ATV industry does that, do your research. You'll find that to be true. So, no there won't be any problems with the engine. Get over it.

Case closed.

Look how reliable germans were when we went to war In Irac. They should have had Honda help them.I own a 2001 arctic cat 400 with the Suzuki motor, not one problem with it yet.
