AC Gas Mileage
#12
My unit, auto 500, is doing the same, 30mi. per tank.
I thought this was normal? I idle quite alot, and the unit still has to be broken in, I only have 50
miles on it now.
Hope this is not a big problem? I will stay tuned for your fix.

Thanks Guys,
I got my AC back from the dealer today, 9-19-00. The mechanic called Arctic Cat, who said that I should be getting about 10-15 mpg or 50-70 miles per tank. He also adjusted the carb and everything seems to be working fine now. And, one other thing the mechanic told me, Arctic Cat did admit that the gas gauge is not as accurate as it should be. I'll get back to you on how many miles I get out of this tank. Again thanks for all the response.
P.S. The dealer did say that the AC500 will eat a lot of fuel if it sits and idles quite a bit.

I have 2K AC auto and I get about 65 miles on a tank before switching to reserve. Most of the riding I do is in the 5000 to 8ooo foot elevation range. My buddy has a 98 sp500 and he gets a remarkable 29.8 MPG in the same riding parameters.
