My friend and I where playing in a pretty rough mud hole this afternoon and when he was trying to get back out of the hole he broke one of his rear axles on his 04 ac 500. Since he doesn't have access to the internet I figured I would post this question for him. Is there a heavier duty axle to be had/bought and what websites have them? Any help is greatly appreciated. Gorilla makes good axels that are much better than stock. Look to spend around 350 for each axle.

Highlifter.com and many other sites carry them. Just do a google search.

You may be able to find the parts cheaper elsewhere, but this will give you a ball park figure.

 

I've got a 03 ac 500 manual, since I got it I've gone through 7 axles, (4 rear, and 3 fronts) I'm running 26" highlifter outlaws. My dealer tells me thats why they are breaking. The stock axles are just junk! Ive also had to change the rings(too much water) need ideas on a snorkel. The machine is only 1 1/2 years old!

 

I hear that, my buddy decided on getting the gorilla axles. For one they are cheaper than OEM and two supposedly stronger and three are warrantied for a year. That sux to hear you've had to replace 7 axles. Wow. His AC dealer told him That the axle broke due to jumping. And we had been jumping pretty high off some fire breaks previous to it breaking in the mudhole. But oh well. I guarantee he won't like to hear that you've broke 7 in 1.5 years. I'll tell him what you said about the tires.
