H1 vs King Quad
I think it really depends on the type of riding you do. Each machine offers advantages in different areas. I would stack them up as such-
Ride Qualilty- tie at lower speeds, edge to King at higher speeds
*Trail Riding- King outshines, though Cat feels great at lesser speeds, not as composed.
*Mudding- Cat for sure, much more ground clearance and easier to use 4wd system
*Rock Crawling- Cat, ground clearance and more suspension travel.
*Hill Climbing- I would call it a tie, maybe slight edge to King at extremes because of lower center of gravity
*Ergonomics- I would call it a tie, both feel very comfortable
*Brakes- Edge to King I think, although I had a 04 Cat v2 and the brakes were only ok, on my 05 H1, the breaks are great- even the rear which I can lock up easily
*Power- King for sure( still breaking in the H, so I don't know potential- but King will always be faster)
*Overall Handling- edge to King.
*Intangables- I give this egde to the Cat. Stuff like 10" suspension travel, 2" reciever hitch, heavy duty bumpers, slick locker engagement, winch placement, gigantic and tough racks
These are my thoughts on comparing the two. I owned an 04 V2, and now have the H1. Have rode the King a little and rode with one a lot. Generally I would say the the King is a better all round off roader/ trailrider, with the H1 being a better mudding/ difficult terrain machine with some nicer features.
For me, I would rather go a little slower down the trail, but when I got to the big rock or deep mudhole- go through or over as opposed to around. Just my thoughts.
