well thats good to hear where was the break for you as far as mileage was concerned? I got mine up to 45mph according to the speedo last week on the road, I cant get her that fast on the dirt or grass. My wife has a twin to mine and it has always seemed a little faster and stronger, but like I say they both just have about 200 miles on them. Guess we need to get to ridin some more huh?
It was between 400 and 500 miles that the increase slowly happened. It is one of those one ride it's still breaking in and the next it's done and hauls deals. Each machine is and individual and will be different. An auto will not be as fast for top speed as a manual will be. My manual as seen 54 on the speedo, but the GPS says 52 and I believe the GPS. As to riding, from late November when I got it to January 10th I put almost 400 miles on mine. Just went over a 1000 this last week.

Yeah I realize that its not hit 350 miles and see a magical increase or anything just wanted a general range. Hey I like your rifle holder in your pics, I get the general idea of it, but do you have any detailed instructions anywhere on it. the back is clamped to a kimpex fender guard right? What did you use on the front?

For the front I had a couple of cups that a foam beer holders fits in it form barrel protection. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the cups and used elevator bolts to bolt it to the fender with area washers. Then I cut a 1/4" thick piece of leather the diameter of the bottom of the beer holder and put it in to keep the muzzle from getting beat up. Oh yeah, here in the northwest it rains sometimes during deer season and I made some drain holes to finish them off. I have since removed the fender protectors and installed the 300's fender flares on the 250 and mounted the rear mounts on the outside edge of the rear rack. Will have the same set up on the 400 by hunting season. Without every using the hold downs on the rear rubber "U" bracket gun mounts have never had a gun bounce out or come loose, which is nice as it makes it quicker to get the long gun into action.

If I had any suspicions about my purchase of a 2003 AC 400i, they were gone after today! This quad is awesome. If anyone has any doubts about: (A)- purchasing a 400 (B)- that it won't keep up with the "big boys" or (C)- that an automatic is not for you, then let me help you off the fence. I rode all day with everything from Rhyno's, to Rincons and my AC just kept barreling through. We rode the heavy and nasty all day and while other's were getting hung up, (lack of ground clearance), or bogged down in the swampy's, this little tank rolled right on through. The automatic with engine braking is sublime and the reverse over-ride is a treat in the mud. This thing is the Energizer Bunny, (on acid) of ATV's.

Enjoy,

Mark

I remeber when I had about 75 miles on my 400, I thought it was a total dog and counldn't climb anything. After the 150-300 mile mark it has been like a new machine. The 400 is solid.

Where are all the other 400 owners??????

There are a lot of them out here, AKfireman, doober, swampdonkey, thomar...

I'm in the same boat as you, I only have about half as many miles on my ATV as I have posts on this site!
